"I Like to Ride my Bicycle..."

Last week, Matt and Spencer went with their Scout Troop to spend the week in Moab, Utah. They had a blast biking, hiking, eating, and of course, bonding. Here are a few pics of their trip...
My cute boys!
"Big Man on a Little Bike..."
I am so grateful that Spencer can be part of such a fabulous Scout Troop. All his leaders are so dedicated. Matt also works with the 12 and 13 year olds, so Spenc will be with his dad in July. What fun memories they will have together. I can't believe soon Spencer will be old enough to hold the Priesthood and pass the sacrament on Sundays. He's really growing up. We are proud of the young man he is turning into. I'm also grateful that neither Spencer or Matt got hurt on this trip! "Slick Rock" just doesn't sound comforting to a mother for some reason. This summer they're gearing up for all sorts of fun, like white-water rafting. Hey, I'd like to be a Scout!

Seven Reasons Why We Love Our Sammy!

  1. Her Birthday Fell on Easter this year, and it also happened to be a day we spent in the car driving home from Utah...and she DIDN'T EVEN MIND.
  2. She is incredibly funny
  3. She loves to eat-especially at a buffet, which is how we redeemed ourselves as parents on her birthday!
  4. She gives the best hugs and kisses
  5. She tries very hard to always do the right thing
  6. She's the baby! Yes, we know she's seven...but she's STILL the baby...and always will be!
  7. Sammy was born happy and sweet and has been the best little caboose for our family. She is loving, kind, and beautiful.
We Love You Sammy. Happy Birthday!

Things I Learned While Skiing

  • I burn approximately 2300 calories on a day of skiing (that's for you Rachel)
  • 400 of those calories are burned while helping 4 kids into ski gear and onto the slopes
  • CHILDREN WHO SKI TOGETHER , BOND TOGETHER
  • My husband can, and will, trick me into going on a double black diamond run with moguls up to my armpits
  • Said husband will tell me how sexy it is that I can ski a double black diamond
  • I EAT approximately 4300 calories while skiing (okay, maybe not THAT many) because the food at Deer Valley is so good!!!
  • I love blueberry pie, carrot cake, and a delightful little yummy called a snowshoe bar!
  • My Jakey can fall and proceed to slide the ENTIRE way down a black diamond run while I ski behind him and am unable to do anything about it except scream hysterically, "STOP!!!"
  • Said fall will add approximately 10 years to my life
  • 9 year old boys are made of rubber
  • SKIING MAKES GREAT MEMORIES!!!

Sammy is Student of the Month!!!

Our sweet Sammy was Student of the Month last Friday. Apparently, 1st grade Weenigs are very respectful because both Sammy and her cute cousin Madie were picked to represent their classes this month. The "value" of the month is RESPECT. Sammy was so proud of herself, and we are proud of her too! On her award her teacher wrote, "Sammy is such a wonderful first grader. She shows respect to her classmates, teachers, and friends. Sammy is a good listener, she patiently waits her turn, and always chooses kind words. I am so proud of you!" After her name was announced at Flag Salute and she got to go up in front of the whole school, we went back to her class and her teacher presented her with her certificate and read it in front of the class! The best part was getting popsicles with all the other award winners and getting out of class for awhile! Sammy, we are so proud of you and what a sweet girl you are.

Tulum, Mexico

Lucky me AGAIN! This is turning out to be a pretty fun winter. Not a month after my New York Trip it was off again to enjoy beautiful Cancun, Mexico. My sister Jennifer and I got to join my Mom and Dad at the Dreams Resort in Tulum. The resort was amazing with lots of yummy restaurants and a very friendly staff. I must admit I probably gained back a pound (maybe two) enjoying my relaxing vacation. The best parts were walks on the beach with Dad and Jennifer, the ruins in Tulum, having lots of time to read and relax, and of course-all the giggles we had! Thanks again Matt for taking care of the kids so I could enjoy some family bonding!!! Happy Vacation Girls
A roll that came in our Room Service Bread Basket and provided a few giggles
Happy Hour! Virgin Style of Course!
Bosom Buddies-AND Sisters!
The guy on our tour who ticked Jennifer off by not wearing his shirt.
The Caribbean Sea...How gorgeous it that!
