My Wandering Love

I love this man. Look how hot he is! Plus, he's a fabulous father and husband. There's only one problem (well, one big problem...of course there's lots of little ones but I won't get into those now)...HE TRAVELS! I know it's part of his job, I know I should be grateful he has a job that he loves and keeps our family taken care of, but sometimes I just HATE that he has to be gone a lot. I guess the reason for my bitterness is that he's leaving tomorrow for Maryland and he's going to be gone ALL WEEKEND! I can handle it okay when he's gone during the week, but the weekends are another story. I can't bear the thought of a whole weekend with no date night. I'm feeling very sorry for myself. Waaaaa.

It's What's For Dinner

Take a nice long look just below the writing on the package:The theory is the lettuce was washed in water with pollywogs in it and this one "hatched". I think I live a little too close to the border for this one to be funny :) And in case your wondering...NO, this is not my lettuce! I try to buy organic, but this is taking it a little too far.

MoMo...

Meet my adorable sister Amanda, lovingly nicknamed MoMo (that's another post). She is five years younger than me (and it shows-she's such a cute little stinker). Anyway, I have to give a little shout out to her brush with fame this week. Seriously, it's killing me. Click on her blog to read all about her American Idol experience. Too cool. I'm sooooo jealous.

I Left My Heart (or At Least my Diet) in San Francisco...

A business trip last week turned into a fun weekend away (after all the meetings of course) with Matt, Mom, and Dad. Matt flew up Thursday night and we had a fun, food-filled weekend! Seriously, we ATE our way through San Francisco. To put things in perspective: Morton's was our worst meal. Seriously, all the food was SO good! We did a little shopping (thanks for the Mother's Day shoes Mom!), a little sight-seeing, and A LOT of eating. I'm so not getting back on the scale for at least a week! The highlights of the trip (besides the food) were: watching American Idol with Dad (David Archuletta's #1 Fan), the meeting cookies (I guess that's food-oh well), the "smile" (you know the one Mom!), the amazingly beautiful weather we had while we were there, the "doogie" (only to be consumed with peches), and all the laughs and giggles. Thanks for the memories Mom and Dad...
The elevator in our first attempt at accomodations (Do NOT stay in the downtown Hilton-ew). We ended up at the MUCH nicer Hyatt across from the Ferry Building.
Into the great, wide open!
The two men I love most...(not to exclude the two BOYS I love most-Spencer and Jake- who are exact replicas of these two-it is so much fun to raise your husband and your father!)
Yes, I realize this isn't a very good picture, but I swear that's Jim from "The Office" sitting in front of us!
After all the traveling I've done the last few weeks (which was fabulous and fun), I am so grateful to be back home. I missed my kiddos so much. It made me realize how much I enjoy my regular, real life and being a MOM. It was a great gift for Mother's Day to be with my kids again and have all their hugs, kisses, and sweet gifts. Out of all the wonderful things in life, the best part for me is being home with my family. Love you guys.

Mother's Day Poems by Jake Weenig

My mom... She looks 22 but that's not the reason why I love her
I think she is cool,
she's supportive at school but that's not the other reason why I love you I love you because you're nice the opposite of mice and whoever does not think you're cool they're a big fool! You are the best then all the rest Sorry I don't always obey But I'm still learning the way You would rock Even if you had a wacky mohawk.
