Boating

This summer, we were fortunate to borrow a friend's boat for a family reunion/boat trip to Lake Mead. We picked the boat up a little couple of weeks early and took it our for a "test drive" in Oceanside. We invited Jake, Hillary, and their cute kiddos to join Matt, me and our boys for a fun day of boating. I promise, we love our girls but they were both busy that day (dance recitals and work!)
First time on a boat!
El Capitan
Spencer was the first to try dropping on the "pillow". I guess it was fun because he wanted to do it at least a dozen more times!
He got Jake to join him...
Giving some brotherly encouragement
The Rothey fam
How cute is my sister?
We even found Sponge Bob's long lost cousin when we docked for a pit stop
I don't make it into many pictures, but this time my legs did (mine are up front). I'm pretty proud of those almost 40 gams of mine-just don't ask to see my stomach!
The boy convince Uncle Jake to try jumping...
It was a great day of family, sun, the amazing ocean we are blessed to live next to, and lots of laughs!

Thanksgiving 2010

Off to La Quinta!
Saying goodbye to our Molly
Dinner with the Searles
Thanksgiving Day Photo Shoot with the Cutest Kids in the World...
Knowing we only have another year or two with Hailey home for Thanksgiving...we wanted to have a fun family vacation and make some memories. We headed out to La Quinta and enjoyed the semi-warm weather. We rode bikes, went on hikes, swam (at least the kids did), went out to eat, and enjoyed each others' company. We also got to spend some time with the Searles on their way to San Diego (haha Monee ;). As I laid in bed on Thanksgiving morning reading a book, I realized how grateful I was that I was that I hadn't had to get up at 6o'clock to stick my hand up a Turkey's butt. Ah, the joys of going out to eat for Thanksgiving :) The week before, I did make a mini-feast for just our family, complete with three homemade apple pies that were gone within 12 hours...hey, we Weenigs like to eat! My cute kiddos are grateful for the following: Sammy is grateful for Molly. Jake is thankful for his looks. Spencer is thankful for all the trip we get to go on. Hailey is thankful for a country where we have religious and political freedoms, a combustion of ethnicity, and the ability to thrive in a capitalist society (she may or may not be practicing for the Miss America Pageant). We headed home Thanksgiving Day and surprised the Weenigs, the McGregors, the Keslers, the Toomers, and Paul and his lovely new girlfriend Sharon-who later came to stay with us for a couple of days. I'm still trying to recover from Black Friday midnight shopping, sharing a hotel suite with four kids, and decorating the whole house for Christmas. A perfect start for the holidays!!!

Halloween 2010

This year we got to spend Halloween with all the Gardner cousins. Grandma made a yummy meal and the kids enjoyed trick or treating around The Hunt Club and getting full-sized candy bars. I love all these cute kiddos :)
